BETESEB is one of the few organizations in Ethiopia focused on street children and youths without parents.
Learn About Us
It’s all began in 2007 with three boys that were living on the
street moved-in to the private residence of Wro. Aynalem Weldeamanuel, the
founding mother of Beteseb Charity Association.
Thereafter, with the help of family members and friends as well
as people that support Aynalem’s vision, the initiative gradually grew, year by
year adding more unfortunate children that were in desperate need of basic living
support in the City of Hawassa, Sidama Region, Ethiopia.
At the moment Beteseb is a full-fledged local NGO officially
registered with the federal Civil Society Organizations Authority (Reg.No 6101)
and engaged in various humanitarian works that are aimed at elevating the life
standards of orphaned children and vulnerable elderly individuals living in
impoverished conditions.
In the past eighteen years Beteseb has managed to transform the
life of more than 100 vulnerable and orphaned children that were exposed to
street life due to absence of parents and lack of any family members to
support them.
All essential amenities and support are provided within a
peaceful and family-like living environment with the aim of creating a suitable
platform for nurturing children to become physically, mentally and economically
productive members of society.
